Tickets for the seventh annual Knysna Literary Festival went on sale this week and two events have already sold out – Look ‘n Cook with Pete Goffe-Wood, and Delicious Word Journey.

The event takes place from 17 to 20 March and the full programme is available on the Knysna Literary Festival website, www.knysnaliteraryfestival.co.za and in printed format from Pam Golding Properties Knysna and Plettenberg Bay, and Bargain Books in the Knysna Mall and The Market Square, Plettenberg Bay.

Founder of the festival, Ling Dobson, said that she is thrilled with the overwhelming response. “The tickets for these two events literally sold out within an hour,” she said.

There are still tickets available for the other events which boast highly sought-after authors and promise to be enthralling. They include Fate of the Nation, a riveting panel discussion about the current political climate in South Africa which will feature Ferial Haffajee, editor of the City Press newspaper and previously editor of the Mail & Guardian newspaper talking to RW Johnston, author of How Long Will South Africa Survive, Mathews Phoza, Chant of Freedom and Songezo Zibi, Raising The Bar.

Another event that is expected to sell out fast is Nik Rabinowitz Live, featuring “the world’s leading Xhosa speaking Jewish comic,” on Friday, 18 March at Conrad Pezula Resort and Spa. Rabinowitz will share his thoughts on “the smorgasbord of dichotomy and paradoxical magnificence that is South Africa.”
